Well not really, but someone does.
Its my nephew has a problem, you see he has a school project that he is doing.
The teacher gives everyone a big poster board and a bunch of magazines.
She says that you must cut out pictures and words that represent yourself, sort of like a mirror image with words and pics.
Well my nephew blurts out I'm gona put anarchy on here.
Then the teacher says no you cant put anything against school policy or you get a zero and MIGHT get into trouble.
Keep in mind that a couple weeks before they made him do an anarchy essay explaining what it is and why he is for it.
He made a good grade.
So what should he do should he put anarchy on the poster board anyway and forget what the teacher said and risk getting into trouble. Or should he listen to her.

I told him he should put it on there anyway cause he needs to be true with himself and not worry about some teacher.
what would you have said or done?

I say you give him another poster board that he puts what he wants on and it stays in his room.
I understand social freedoms- i was a hippie once but i also recognize social awareness of rules.

We all have rules we need to obey or be ready to pay the consequences...he was told not to do something- encouraging him to go against that is allowing him to think it's okay to disobey rules as he sees fit and we know where that will land him.

Just my 2 cents....

well its not about what he puts in his room cause he already knows that if he wanted to do that he could.
In fact he has A Texas flag with a big anarchy sign spray painted on it.
Could he get In trouble for that?
Its about what he wants people to know what he's about, and be true to himself.
And besides if he supports anarchy he's all against authority anyway so Even if I told him not to deep down i think he would anyway.
I didnt specifically tell him to do it.
I just said do what you feel within.
I'll let you know what happens tommarow.
Thanx for the help father dave

I have to say that I agree with Dave on this one. Being the mom of 2, I have run into a lot of situations like this. I found that most of the time I told them to do what the teacher told them to do. But, when my daughter was 14, she didn't want to disect the frog's at school. She felt very strongly about it and was also told that she would get a failing mark if she didn't do it. I let her make her own descion on that one...how could I force her to do something she felt was so wrong? She decided not to do it, got an F on that particular lab, but made it up on other projects and tests. So, I guess it depends on certain circumstances, like the child's age and if they are willing to handle the consequences. Don't know if I helped or not *L* Somtimes making a choice or a statement can be tough to handle..I told my daughter that her decison wasn't a mistake, there are no mistakes, just life lessons. Seems to me, if the teacher had thought his/her lesson plans through according to the big picture...they could have prevented alot of what your nephew is going through right now.

Let us know what he decided to do....and what the outcome is.

Heaven~ I agree completely.....its about choices..making mistakes...and learning lessons from those mistakes....

Websters defines MISTAKE as a wrong act or opinion.....or understanding wrongly..... *just a lil life lesson in my opinion*

SOme of my worst "mistakes"...turned out to be blessings in disguise... or took me down a different road......the whole getting kicked outta school thing....seemed so horrific...for me..and my family...look what it lead to...

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size=2 face="tempus sans itc,verdana,arial">quote:</font><table border="0" width="90%" bgcolor="#333333" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0"><tr><td width="100%"><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" bgcolor="#FF9900"><tr><td width="100%" bgcolor="#DDDDDD"><font size=2 face="tempus sans itc,verdana,arial"> Then the teacher says no you cant put anything against school policy or you get a zero and MIGHT get into trouble.
</font></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></BLOCKQUOTE>

....and this is just plain dumb...MIGHT???...so what...she or he...will decide..later??......that day??..depending..on what or how they feel..... what the consequences might be? Consequences should have been set up right there.... so everyone was on equal ground....

^*waits for BIg TeCK to let us know*^

Well turns out he put the sign on there, and the teacher didnt say anything YET.
That is how it works over there at his chool he says, depending on what you do, the teacher decides if it was bad enough to send you to the office.
The school that he goes to he says that the teachers are not very strict on cursing.
He says that if you curse that the teacher decides if it was an accident and slipped or if you really meant to say it.
Can you believe that?
Thats corrupted.
He also says that one of his teachers got into trouble for trying to send a student home.
THE TEACHER called up the students mom from her teacher phone and told her to come pick up her son, cause he was misbehaving.
I dont know.
I will keep you updated on whats happening
or if he gets into trouble.
Cause he says she still hasn't graded them yet.

I should have asked this first but the "cussing" item made me think to ask...what age/grade are we talking about?
